What does “Le Soleil Chic” mean and how did you come up with it?
It’s French for “The Stylish Sun”. I love anything that is yellow and related to the sun (sunflowers, sunshine, sunsets, etc.) and since I made this blog mostly to share outfit photos, it seemed like a fitting name. One of my good friends helped me come up with it. I love the way it sounds in French!
Who takes your pictures?
So far, my boyfriend and my sister have been generous enough to take all my outfit photos. They both have higher-end Canon cameras and I recently found out my sister has a tripod too. All I need now is a wireless remote and I’ll be able to take my own pictures!
Are any of your photos edited/retouched?
Usually the only changes I’ll make are adjusting the brightness and color imbalances, which I use my Macbook’s iPhoto to do. Sometimes I’ll use the retouch effect to fix minor blemishes like stray hair or a leg bruise.
What do you do for a living?
Currently I am a research technician at a cancer/stem cell neurobiology lab at UCLA. In 2012 I graduated with my Psychobiology degree from UCLA and have been working at the research lab since. I don’t plan on staying there forever though. I have plans to move onto professional school in the next few years and I’m currently in the process of figuring out that part of my life :).
