Casual Friday

T-G-I-F! I don't know about everyone else but after a busy week of work and school, I'm super ready for the weekend. My boyfriend (Edwin) has family visiting from out of town so he'll be back in LA this weekend (yay!) which means I'll get to see him and also spend time with his visiting family. The weather here is still pretty warm despite it being mid October. I love warm weather but it feels like it's been summer forever and I'm so anxious to pull out my tights and boots to put cute fall outfits together. Until it cools down enough to wear layers, I decided darker or muted colors are a perfect transition into the fall season. For example, last weekend I wore this outfit:

Outfit Details:
Top: ModCloth (similar here)
Cardi: Forever 21 (similar here)
Skirt: H&M
Oxfords: ModCloth (similar here)

I think the maroon and navy are ideal colors for the fall season, compared to the bright reds and blues more appropriate for summertime. I wore a pale yellow skirt which helped give the whole outfit some contrast, and I wore a brown belt and Oxfords to complete the look (I also had a brown MK bag not pictured).

Cardigans are a huge part of my wardrobe for all seasons, but especially around this time of year when the extra layer of warmth comes in handy. What are your fall wardrobe staples? Let me know in the comments below :). I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

  1. What an adorable cardigan, Serli!! You look super cute. Also love the Oxfords:) I would say my fall wardrobe staple has been a casual gray maxi dress! Have a great weekend!

  2. Love those Oxfords. This is a really nice look for you. My fall staple has been black skinnies so far, which is a brand new thing for me.

  3. I'm in the same boat as you! We don't really get "fall" weather in Florida. It just stays hot until the end of December, in this a few weeks of chilly weather then it gets hot again. I long to live in a place where I actually get seasons, so I can pull out all my layers! I'm kind of coat crazy, and I have several new ones that I am longing to wear. This outfit is a really great way to get in the autumn mindset, but still be weather appropriate (: I love your skirt and sweater!

    1. Thanks, Amber! I feel you on the lack of seasons thing... I can't complain for having nice weather year-round but I would love the opportunity to wear lots of layers too. I also have a new coat I got on sale a few months ago, I'm just waiting for the tiniest bit of cold to wear it!

  7. Seriously lovely colour combination at work here, dear gal. I adore cranberry, navy, brown and yellow together. These hues speak of both fall and winter and are so elegant, cheerful and fun together.

Big hugs & many thanks for your wonderfully nice blog comments today,
